Jennifer Aniston has slammed rumors she is pretending to date her "The Bounty Hunter" co-star Gerard Butler in a bid to promote the movie - branding the suggestion "insulting."
The pair sparked rumors of a new romance after Butler joined Aniston on vacation in Mexico last month to celebrate her 41st birthday.
And the former "Friends" actress fueled speculation about their relationship when she pulled Butler in for a close embrace while posing for pictures at the U.K. premiere of their movie on Thursday night.
But Aniston insists she is just good friends with the Scottish star and is fuming over claims she has created a fake relationship with him to publicize "The Bounty Hunter."
Speaking on British TV show GMTV, she says, "They think that if you do a movie together and you get on really well you must be dating... I think it's a filler, it's fodder, it fills magazines, it has nothing backing it at all.
"You know there's all this stuff about calculating... that me and Gerry are in this fake relationship for the press of our movie or the selling of it. It's just so insulting at the same time, but again it's the story... I'm getting to a better place in understanding that they're just making money."
And speaking on the red carpet at the film premiere, Butler adds, "I went for her birthday to Mexico. But we're just friends. We have a natural chemistry, you can see it in our magazine shoot and the film; we have a great time together."
Amanda Seyfried ended her "messy" on-set affair with Dominic Cooper when she discovered he had a longtime girlfriend at home - but gave the actor another chance after he flew halfway across the world to woo her.
The pair became romantically involved while they were filming movie-musical "Mamma Mia!" even though the British actor was already in a committed relationship with girlfriend of 12 years Joanna Carolan.
Seyfried admits the "overlap" was "messy" so they parted ways and she started dating someone else - until Cooper split from his girlfriend in Britain and flew to the set of her movie "Dear John" to win her back.
She tells Britain's Glamour magazine, "We fooled around so much during the rehearsals for 'Mamma Mia!' But it was messy because there was some overlap with his girlfriend who he'd been with for 12 years. I didn't know how he was going to deal with that, so we went our separate ways and I began dating someone else. Then Dominic flew over to Charleston (South Carolina) where I was filming 'Dear John,' and made sure I never saw that guy again."
An Israeli nationalist group has urged Bar Refaeli to ditch boyfriend Leonardo DiCaprio - so she can settle down with a Jewish husband.
The supermodel, who has been dating the "Titanic" star on and off since 2005, was forced to deny rumors she was engaged to DiCaprio earlier this month after she was spotted wearing a ring on her wedding finger.
She told reporters the couple had no plans to marry - but her comments failed to stop an Israeli politician from warning her to stay away from the actor.
Baruch Marzel's letter, sent on behalf of the Lehava organization, read: "It is not by chance that you were born Jewish. Your grandmother and her grandmother did not dream that one of their descendants would one day remove the family's future generations from the Jewish people. Assimilation has forever been one of the enemies of the Jewish people."
Marzel adds that he "has nothing against Mr DiCaprio, who I have no doubt is a talented actor," before concluding: "Come to your senses, look forward and back too - and not only the present. Don't marry Leonardo DiCaprio, don't harm the future generations."
"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" star Richard Belzer has blasted a woman who accused him of choking her, insisting she was seeking attention and trying to "embarrass a famous person."
Milan Agnew, an employee at an Apple store in New York's Upper West Side, alleges Belzer, 65, entered the shop on Wednesday, shook and choked her, yelling, "I need help!"
Agnew immediately called police and filed a harassment complaint.
The actor was questioned by cops and later released without charge - and is now speaking out about her claims, which he insists were entirely fabricated for attention.
He tells the New York Post, "The sad part of it was that police officers were called and had to report to the scene and God knows we don't need all that manpower wasted on a trivial accusation that was clearly done either for attention or to embarrass a famous person."
Now Belzer is urging the 21 year old to seek counseling.
He adds, "She wanted attention and she knew who I was and I clearly didn't assault her. It's surprising that Apple would not apologize to such a high-profile, good customer. I've spent thousands of dollars there. I don't want her to be fired; I just want her to seek help.
"I've never had even the slightest rudeness like this at the Apple store. They're all great. I think you have to pass a personality test to work there, and I don't know how this woman slipped through the cracks."
The New York Post claims authorities examined surveillance footage and concluded Belzer had done nothing wrong.
Lady Gaga has shrugged off assumptions she's been living a life of luxury since shooting to fame - insisting she has very few personal possessions.
The "Poker Face" hitmaker has been music's biggest success story of the last year, selling a staggering 10 million copies of her debut album "The Fame" since its release in late 2008.
But the singer is adamant she's not been spending her hard-earned cash on material things.
She tells Britain's Now magazine, "A glamorous life is different to a life of luxury. I don't need luxury. For years I was practically broke, but I was still very vain and glamorous. And I still am.
"I can't even drive a car. I don't have a driver's license. I have a rented apartment in New York. That's it. When I travel, I have almost all of my possessions with me. That's how little I own."
Hilary Duff was left red-faced by paparazzi pictures which captured the moments after her fiance proposed - and she insists the snaps are "awful."
The singer/actress is planning to wed ice hockey star Mike Comrie after he popped the question during a romantic vacation in Hawaii last month.
But the proposal was shared with the world after snappers caught the couple's intimate moments on camera, with one image showing Duff on her hotel balcony taking a picture of her ring on her cell phone.
And the star admits she was horrified to see the covert snaps.
She tells Hollywoodlife.com, "It was awful. We had no idea they (the paparazzi) were there; it was weird. I hated that I was taking a picture of my ring and sending it to my mom!"
Duff is now busy planning her wedding, but she's hoping to keep the ceremony quiet and intimate.
She adds, "We want to keep it small. (Mike)'s like, 'Whatever you want!"
Corey Haim had pulmonary congestion, according to initial findings by a Los Angeles coroner - but officials have not determined if the condition killed the former child star.
The "Lost Boys" star died from a suspected drug overdose in his mother's Los Angeles apartment on Wednesday.
His cause of death has not yet been determined but TMZ.com reports four medications, including painkiller Vicodin, prescribed to Haim were found in the property.
The website also alleges experts at the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office have informed Haim's mother Judy that the actor had pulmonary congestion, an enlarged heart and water in his lungs.
An official cause of death will not be released until a toxicology report is concluded.
Meanwhile, Haim will be remembered twice in his native Toronto, Canada and in his adopted Los Angeles. His remains will be flown back to Canada for a funeral and a memorial service is also being planned in Los Angeles.
"Batman Begins" director Christopher Nolan has confirmed he's swapped the Dark Knight for the Man of Steel - he's "very excited" to be working on the next Superman movie.
The moviemaker revived the Batman franchise with Christian Bale as the Caped Crusader in 2005 and returned for 2008's "The Dark Knight." He is preparing to take charge of his third Batman movie, but he's now added another superhero to his roster by agreeing to produce a new film about Superman.
The franchise was given a reboot with Bryan Singer's 2006 offering "Superman Returns," and the new movie will reportedly go ahead with a different director - although Nolan has not yet confirmed whether he will be stepping behind the camera.
But Nolan admits he's "very excited" to be taking on Superman with his "The Dark Knight" collaborator David S. Goyer and producing partner wife Emma Thomas - and he's already got big plans for the blockbuster.
He tells the Los Angeles Times, "It's very exciting; we have a fantastic story. And we feel we can do it right. We know the milieu, if you will; we know the genre and how to get it done right.
"A lot of people have approached Superman in a lot of different ways. I only know the way that has worked for us that's what I know how to do. He (Goyer) basically told me, 'I have this thought about how you would approach Superman.' I immediately got it, loved it. I wanted to get Emma and I involved in shepherding the project right away and getting it to the studio and getting it going in an exciting way."
Film funnyman Tom Arnold has defended his pal Charlie Sheen - insisting the star is a "target" for false allegations due to his controversial past.
Sheen was arrested on Christmas last year after a bust-up with wife Brooke Mueller. He was charged with third-degree assault, menacing, and criminal mischief, and is due back in court in Colorado on Monday, March 15.
He has since undergone treatment at a recovery facility as a "preventative measure," while his wife also went into rehab.
But Arnold, who has battled alcohol and drugs since he was a teenager and is now celebrating 20 years of sobriety, insists he finds it hard to believe Sheen could be violent towards Mueller.
He tells Larry King, "Addiction - being drunk could lead to violence. It can. I'm not saying it was Charlie. I love Charlie. I know Charlie. I don't believe anything that I've read about what happened with Charlie. You know, I think he's been open about he and his father, about his situation. I know he's worked real hard on it. I've never heard any of the violence attached to it.
"That's the thing. If you're like me, and people know you were once a drug addict - they can Google my name - they can accuse me of anything... It doesn't matter. You are a target. Charlie Sheen is a very good target."
In 1998, Sheen fell out with his actor father Martin after he reported the star for violating his parole. Sheen was on two years probation for attacking a girlfriend when he allegedly overdosed after injecting cocaine.
A representative for Justin Timberlake has moved to silence ongoing rumors of a split from Jessica Biel after the pop star was spotted with another woman in Las Vegas.
The couple's relationship has come under scrutiny in recent months, with online gossips speculating a split is imminent.
Timberlake and Biel have shrugged off the rumors with a string of public appearances, as well as a romantic trip to Switzerland to celebrate the actress' recent 28th birthday.
But reports of trouble in the relationship resurfaced again this week after the "SexyBack" hitmaker was photographed partying with a scantily-clad dancer at Tao nightclub in Sin City.
However, a spokesperson for Timberlake is adamant there's no truth to rumors the romance is coming to an end. The rep tells Hollyscoop.com, "They're not breaking up."
Pop star Madonna gave TV viewers a laugh on Jerry Seinfeld's new comedy show "The Marriage Ref" on Thursday night - after she scolded funnyman Larry David for calling her a "man hater."
The pair and comedian Ricky Gervais were part of a celebrity panel, which settles disagreements between arguing couples on the new series.
But Madonna and David failed to keep the peace, after the "Curb Your Enthusiasm" star realized she sided with the wife during one dispute, accusing the star of being "a man hater."
After bickering back and forth, the pop star fired back, "Do not scream at me. . . I hate you!"
Madonna famously ended her marriage to British director Guy Ritchie after the couple's highly-publicized divorce proceedings were finalized last year.
Police in Bogata, Colombia failed to prevent riots at a Metallica concert on Wednesday night - more than 100 fans were arrested after violence erupted outside the venue.
Members of the nation's military were drafted in ahead of the gig in a bid to prevent trouble following reports that the band's show in Santiago, Chile in January was marred by rioting.
More than 1,500 officials were organized to patrol the streets around Simon Bolivar Park ahead of Wednesday's concert.
But despite the extra efforts, approximately 160 people were detained by cops and at least eight injured as hundreds of fans without tickets attempted to force their way into the sold-out gig.
Police reportedly used water cannons and tear gas in an attempt to disperse the angry crowd.
Officer Ruben Castillo tells Sky News, "Those people that did not get in wanted to get in by force. The presence of police and riot teams was necessary because these misfits - there's no other name for them - damaged some windows in the surrounding area."
Despite the havoc surrounding the event, Metallica still managed to perform the concert, their first in the country since 1999.
